Here are some tips to pack your fragile stuff properly and safely

Use the Bubble Wrap Technique

  • Gather all supplies you will need to pack the stuff. This includes bubble wrap and large cardboard boxes and papers to wrap around the items.
  • Lay down the piece of paper at the bottom of the cardboard boxes and place your item on top to measure the size. Wrap around the entire item with the paper sheet to keep them safe and place it in the cardboard box. You can also use small cardboard pieces that will be placed on opposite sides of your stuff.
  • Get your bubble wrap and place it between the cardboard and your fragile item. Make sure to place the bubble wrap with the bubble side facing down and the smooth side facing towards the fragile item. If you place the bubble side facing the fragile item, it will stick and becomes difficult to work with.
  • Wrap the bubble wrap properly around the item. Make sure all of the sides are covered.
  • Place the bubble-wrapped item on the edge of the cardboard and roll the item until it overlaps.
  • Tape it around the cardboard package several times as tightly as you can. The fragile item should not slip out. If you think it would get slip out, you can place more cardboard pieces around the ends of the fragile items and tape them again securely.
  • Finally, package the fragile item securely in the padded box and fill in all of the spaces to prevent the moving of the shifting.

Use the Tissue Paper Technique.

·      For that, you will want to get a special box called a cell pack. This is a box with dividers to places the glasses in. You can also buy the dividers separately if you need them.

  • Grab some plain packing paper and tissue paper. Don’t use newspapers because the ink can rub off the stuff and left the prints on it.
  • Fill the globe of the glass or cup with tissue paper. Press the paper down firmly, but carefully so that it does not get a break. Make sure the globe is filled fully.
  • Lay several layers of tissue paper. Set the glass perpendicular to the corner of the paper and roll it.
  • Lift two or three sheets of tissue paper from the corners, then roll the glass wrapping the tissue paper around it. Be sure to use extra tissue paper into the globe and around the base of the glassware.
  • Place the package and wrap the first sheet around the glass in the same way as the tissue paper, but don’t tuck the paper into the globe and base. Fold the paper around the base, instead.
  • Once the glass is wrapped in the package tightly, place the glassware in the cell-packed box. Use tissue paper or packing paper to fill in the gaps around the glassware.
  • Check that box by giving it a gentle shake. If it rattles, you need to use more paper to fill in the gaps. Shake the box and you don't find any, it is ready to be taped.

Label your box after taping it

The most important step is to label the box to know the stuff that you have packed is securely taped and prevent it from breaking. Do not forget to mark the box as “FRAGILE” so that you able to recognize the box that contains your delicate stuff. Keep all the necessary stuff along with you like scissors, tapes, cardboard boxes, and papers, in case you need any other thing to move or change the placing of the stuff.
